Nintendo Life is a family-friendly website, so although Lil Nas X’s music video for his newly-released single, ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ is an absolute banger, we shan’t be sharing it here for a number of reasons. If you have a search engine and a guardian’s approval, we have no way of stopping you from finding it, though.
In the video, Lil Nas X (henceforth known as LNX) portrays a range of different characters, from Adam (of, you know, Adam and Eve) to the actual devil, as well as himself, LNX. He also wears a few outfits, although pretty much all of them are less “outfits” and more “fancy underpants” – which fits him right into Hades‘ pantheon, a group of very attractive gods who seem to see clothing as more of a suggestion than a requirement.
Antonio Demico is a concept artist who is currently working on Hexbound, a Kickstarter-funded and very beautiful expansion for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Evidently, he has enough free time and creative juice leftover for this incredible imagining of LNX as one of Hades’ gods – even managing to replicate the art style of Supergiant’s mildly successful game.
This art was so well-received by the community on Twitter that even Nas himself retweeted it – praise indeed, considering the guy just released a single and is probably pretty busy right now.
We highly doubt that Supergiant Games is going to make a Hades DLC with Lil Nas X in it – largely because they seem to be quite fond of sticking to actual myth – but if they did, he would quickly shoot up the ranks to be our favourite god. Sorry, Dionysus: you’ve been demoted.
…We do wonder if Lil Nas X would defeat Hades the same way he defeated Satan, though. Ahem.
