Netflix Joins Mario’s Doomsday Celebrations, Will Remove Super Mario Bros. 3 Cartoon On 31st March

We hate to remind you, but it’s already March, and that means Nintendo will be pulling the plug on a number of Mario products at the end of the month. This includes Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. 35 on Switch, the original Super Mario Maker online services are shutting down and the new Super Mario Game & Watch system will no longer be purchasable.

If you thought this was all one big joke, no – it really seems like Mario’s days are numbered as of 31st March. To top it off, Netflix has now revealed The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoon series will be pulled from its streaming service. The last date to watch it will be…you guessed it, 31st March 2021.

It seems this is likely because The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. is now available on Paramount Plus. The Netflix removal date of 31st March is surely just unfortunate timing.

Although this appears to have been worked out, Nintendo still hasn’t provided any reasoning behind why it’s removing games like Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. 35 from the Switch eShop on the same date.

While this is just a guess, it seems the video game giant would much rather get on with The Legend of Zelda 35th anniversary celebrations. Link’s anniversary gets underway in July when Skyward Sword HD lands on Switch. Nintendo is expected to make more Zelda announcements in the second half of 2021.

Will you be watching the above Mario Bros. cartoon before it’s pulled at the end of March? How are you feeling about this war on Mario? Ready to celebrate Link’s anniversary? Share your thoughts down in the comments.
