You may recall that last month, accessory maker Hori revealed it will be launching a Monster Hunter Rise edition of their popular Split Pad Pro controller. Previously, it was only confirmed for Japan, but now, a new Amazon listing tells us it’s launching in North America on April 26th.
Costing $59.99, the Split Pad Pro is only useable in handheld mode, but offers a good alternative for players that find Nintendo’s standard Joy-Con a little too small. Also included are a pair of additional buttons on the rear of the controllers (which can be assigned to any other buttons you’d prefer) and a turbo function.
Here’s the official product description:
Hunters can gear up to track down and defeat monsters with the special edition Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro (Monster Hunter). Re-experience the full-size controller experience in handheld mode with full-size analog sticks, a precision d-pad, and large shoulder buttons. Designed for comfort and accuracy, even during marathon hunting sessions.
Advanced features include assignable rear triggers, turbo functionally, and more for complex attacks and commands. Perfect for high-pace action RPG titles like Monster Hunter Rise and many other genres. Enhance your gaming experience with the Split Pad Pro! Officially Licensed by Nintendo and Capcom.
(Not a wireless controller – only for handheld mode. Does not include motion controls, HD Rumble, NFC, or IR Camera. Note: if having trouble with the Switch recognizing Split Pad Pro, please ensure that all Joy-Con are off and not connected via Bluetooth.)
We’re now four days away from Monster Hunter Rise launching, so if you’re still after a copy (and the Amiibo), you can check out our pre-order guide.
